Born and raised in a small-town rural Kansas, with two older brothers, I had an instant love for everything competitive. My creative mind and spirit drove my youth years switching between ballet slippers and knee pads. I played whichever sport was in season, rocking the most recent Jordans on the playground, and learned the definition of hard work from the family farm.
Fast forward through four great years at the University of Kansas, I was grateful to be a part of the first ever NCAA tournament berth for the volleyball program. An energy for defense and knack for block coverage, I was the first ever Jayhawk to play the libero role. I'd like to think I still have a solid platform and vision to read the best attacker. I still have such a grand love affair for the sport.
I spent nearly five years out in LA after graduation, dabbled in pro beach volleyball, worked at a PR and interior design firm, all while utilizing my creative juices and traveled the world. Ultimately, in my heart, family reigns king, decided to move back and lay roots in one of the best kept secrets, Kansas City. My husband and I have four beautiful boys and one loud and wonderfully chaotic household.
Over the past thirteen years I have covered collegiate and high school women's volleyball, basketball, and softball for television and radio. I strive to bring a voice and perspective of a former player, competitor, and a ton of research to the table. A role that grants me the same adrenaline from my competing days, I can promise I will bring energy and knowledge. My goal is to try and articulate the 'why' during a broadcast and shed light to great story lines.
With voiceover work, I love the challenge of telling a story and the creative aspect that is possible when you dive into the copy.
Please reach out as I would love to chat on how we could work together, whether it be to emcee an event, host a broadcast, or any voiceover work project you have. Rock Chalk!
